Hey y'all! I have been a little MIA this past week in case you haven't noticed! My laptop decided to go a little stir crazy and is having to go to the computer doctor. I really hope I get it back soon so I can blog like normal again! The next few posts will probably be straight from the phone!

Here's a little bit of what's going on with me lately!
1. I'm totally over classes this semester!
---I've decided that I'm going to take the summer off from classes and can't wait to soak up some ray at the beach without having to worry about an upcoming test!
2. I really want to audition for the show Big Brother and am SO excited to watch it soon!!
---have ya'll heard that Rachel and Brendon are going to be on 'The Amazing Race'?
3. My super cute new monogram Otterbox for my phone got delivered today and I can't wait to go home and open it up!!!
4. Only 8 more days until the worlds most overrated holiday EVER. I admit I love celebrating LOVE, especially when theres the color pink involved! But seriously, shouldn't we show those who we care about how much we love and appreciate them all the other 364 days of the year as well?

New Phone!

I have FINALLY decided to join the rest of the world and have been "movin' on up" to an

iPhone 4S

So far, I am loving it! My awesome momma ordered me the most fabulous monogram otterbox for Valentine's Day and it will be here soon! I will be sure to post a pic once it arrives! So do any of you other iPhone lovers have any app recommendations for me? What are some apps you use daily or like to use for shopping, gaming, music, etc.?

More Cupcakes..

Last week we celebrated my momma's birthday with more GIGI's cupcakes!!

I had to work on her birthday and attend class, I tried skipping but I knew I didn't need to do that! Momma had a mani/pedi to start off her day and then Dad took her out to lunch at Huggin' Molly's in Abbeville. Momma just LOVES that place! Then she came home and took a nap and then dinner at my grandparents. My uncle Chad wanted to do something sweet for her since she helped make his special day "special" the week before. So, Uncle Chad grilled steaks, baked potatoes, grilled onions, and they had a salad. My memaw made a 'Chocolate Delight' for dessert. They brought me home some leftovers after I got in from class :) We finished the evening watching 'The Bachelor'!

Here's some lovelies that my momma received for her birthday.
*John Wind Initial Bracelet..her's has a 'K' instead of an 'M'.

*New fabulous travel coffee mug for car rides- The one I got her is black damask print.

*Momma also got some Keurig coffee cups and a gift certificate to the place where we go to get our nails done.

*Momma found 2 books on blogs that she just HAD to have...so she received those also!

*My uncle Chad got momma her FAVORITE candle, Yankee Candles-"Home Sweet Home"

I love my momma so much and am super excited that I was able to spend her birthday weekend with her! I just love birthdays so much and love celebrating life! Happy Birthday Momma! I wish you many, many, many more!!!

I am one of those Pinterest addicts...I have basically designed a whole house, found a new wardrobe, and I think I've found enough recipes to last me a year. I decided to try out some of those recipes this past week. Last Monday I made a "Happy 1 week until Your Birthday Cake".

January Happenings

Whew! This past week has been crazy busy, actually the whole month of January has! I thought January was supposed to be a 'slow-down' month after Christmas and all. My Uncle Chad's birthday was last week and so we celebrated at the house! Uncle Chad is who I went skydiving with last year :) Mom was going to make a huge dinner and bake a cake of his choice...but Uncle Chad just wanted chicken croissants, unbundled green beans, and a cookie cake from the mall. So momma made his birthday wishes come true! After dinner we played a round of 'Farkle', a dice game, and looked through 2 boxes of OLD family pics...like before I was born OLD.

Some friends and I watched the Broncos game last weekend at Beef O Brady's and then went galaxy bowling afterwards!

The evening was super fun and I just love time spent with friends!!

*Don't hate on the glasses..I have had a bad eye infection, can't remember the name-diagnosis, and have been to the eye-doctor 8 TIMES in 3 weeks. The first day was awful. I had to wake-up every hour on the hour for 24 hours to put drops in. The first 48 hours were awful, my eye hurt so bad I couldnt even look at the Sun, no driving for me OR work! Still putting drops in 4 times a day...lucky me. I am happy to report that when I went yet again yesterday, I was told I could wear my contacts again!! Praise the good Lord!! :) Even though it is for only a few hours a day..*

Seek God's Presence

Happy Monday! I am super excited that I have the day off today and no class tonight in observance of MLK! I will spend the day doing some math homework, reading some poems for a world lit class and having a movie date with my momma :).

As I posted earlier, I have started a new devotional for the upcoming year! I am loving it so far and enjoy reading it everyday and learning about new and better ways I can LOVE God, LOVE others, and LOVE myself! I figured I would share a few with you guys throughout the year, some that jump out at me and/or some key quotes and sayings that I've read.Maybe they will jump out at you too!

Seek God's Presence

I drove away from my mind everything capable of spoiling the sense of the presence of God...I just make it my business to persevere in His holy presence. BROTHER LAWRENCE

"One of the most important lessons we can learn is to seek God's face (who he is) and not just his hand (what He can do for us). Learning this is vital to our strength as believers and to our love walk with God.

This was a major lesson for me. I had to learn and enjoy God's presence, not focus on what He was doing or not doing for me...Previously, I had always felt that something was missing in my walk with the Lord. I found it all in His presence, not in His "presents".

The Lord was doing a lot for me, yet I was still dissatisfied. God had established a relationship with me by doing things for me. Now it was time to take a step of maturity by seeking to do His will, not just seeking Him for what He could do for me. I was enjoying God's provision, but I had not learned simply to enjoy his presence.

...I do ask God for things I desire, but I spend much more time praising and thanking Him, loving and adoring Him, sitting in His presence, and enjoying Him, than I ever do making personal requests. He knows the desires of our hearts, and as we delight ourselves in Him, He will give them to us, just as He promised in His Word."

Love God Today: "Lord, I will seek your presence above everything else."

I find it VERY important to wake up every morning Thanking God and going to bed every night thanking God. I was told once to be sure I thanked God FOR EVERYTHING. What if you woke up one morning and everything that you didn't thank God for wasn't there anymore? I always thank Him forthe roof over my head, car in the driveway, friends and family who love me, food in the fridge, an education, a job, and my sweet puppy Chloe.

God gives us 86,400 seconds a day...have you used one to say Thank You?

New Obsession.

I have a new obsession that I MUST share with ya'll! I have always loved all things sweet and savory. ALWAYS. Cupcakes are one of my favorite sweet treats. I think mainly because it is normally 50% cake and 50% icing...oh how I LOVE icing. I used to eat it out of a jar when I was little. Something about a yummy cupcake and Diet Coke just hits the spot EVERYTIME and lets me have that little moment of relaxation. Well...that brings me to GiGi!

GiGi's has a few locations in Alabama like in Tuscaloosa, Auburn (War Eagle!), Mobile, Hoover, and now MONTGOMERY!! Montgomery's location opened in December and Momma and I have been TWICE in 2 weeks! Keep in mind that Montgomery is about 45 min-an hour North from us! Mom and I have now said we have to stop by GiGi's and get a 'pick me up' EVERY time we are in town now! Look how cute the boxes are, and they serve Diet Coke...perfection if you ask me!

The best thing about these sensational cupcakes are the fact they there's a HUGE amount of icing!! Like 60/40!! The flavors change each day, but don't worry because a couple of their most popular are served everyday. Thankfully my favorite is available everyday! It's 'Wedding Cake'. Regular cake with THE BEST Buttercream Icing!!!

Some other flavors we've tried are Strawberry Margarita, Carrot Cake, Peanut Butter Cup, and Midnight Magic! I can't wait to try out the English Toffee one next!! Head on over to GiGi's website and see if there is some sweet goodness near you!

My Sweet Chloe

Chloe hasn't made an appearance on the blog in quite a while, so here's a couple pics of my sweet Chloe-Elizabeth during the holidays! She is having a little teeth cleaning procedure done this week at the vet. We usually have this done to her once a year. She eats too much people food and not enough doggy food, so healthy teeth are a MUST! They have to put her under anesthesia while doing this, so please say a little prayer for her during her teeth cleaning! Thanks! Puppy Anesthesia always worries this little puppy momma!

Baby C's Gender Reveal Party!

I was so honored when Sami Jo asked me to be her 'event planner' for Baby C's Gender Reveal Party! SJ and I were busy planning for a couple months. The invitations, food, decor, and cake turned out perfect. Most of the decor, actually 97% was handmade :) Enjoy the following pics from the party!

Here's a pic of the super cute invites created by a local stationary shop in town. When SJ and I went to order them, it was really special because the same family who owns this shop did ALL of SJ's wedding invites, bridal shower invites, etc and NOW they were able to share in another chapter of SamiJo's life! We are already thinking about 1st Birthday invites!

This bottle door sign was one of the few special things I made for SJ! It's made out of burlap and is stuffed to give it some 'oomph'..however this isn't the best pic of it, so much cuter in person! The top was scrunched and not ready for pics ;)

The following banner i've seen on Etsy and pinterest and decided I'd try my hand at making my own with the cricut...and that's just what I did!

Here's some more of the decor and also some of the food! Notice the fruit watermelon holder?? Its a BABY CARRIAGE! Another one of those Pinterest ideas I decided to try!

The menu was low key and had mini foods like mini cheeseballs, chik-fil-a chicken nuggets, spinach dip in a bread bowl, and veggies!

I LOVE THIS PIC!!

The guests were asked to wear the pink or blue based on their thoughts of what they hoped Baby C would be! When they arrived, they also had to wear lips (for a girl) or a mustache (for a boy)! Inbetween chatting and eatting guests were asked to fill out ADVICE cards for the parents to be and a WISHES card for Baby C. These were like fill-in-the blank/mad-lib type cards. Totally didn't take a pic of that! :(

Athens Trip!

This past football season some friends and I decided to have a ROAD TRIP to Athens, Georgia to watch the Auburn Tigers take on the Georgia Bulldogs. We had such a fun time hanging out in downtown Athens and enjoying the company of great friends. Here's some pics of the 'crew' that went down to Georgia!

All the hotels were booked, and we even booked ours like a month and a half before the game. Well, one of the showers was 'ghetto' and CJ and I played the FixIts's and fixed it :) No need to call room service!

It's gameday!!! The campus was gorgeous with all the fall scenery! The weather was fantastic and the changing of the leaves was beautiful!

I had a splendid time riding in the backseat with these two craxy guys! People called Jason and I "Hank and Dolly" all weekend...see any similarities?

We went to a local hotspot downtown one night for a famous "General's Sweet Tea". They were so yummy!! Sorry this is a bad cell phone pic!

We didn't come out on top and take home the win but I still support the Auburn Tigers!

Christmas Day!

Christmas morning started off like every other, the opening of stockings, some yummy Christmas breakfast, and then opening of gifts from 'HoHo'! The weather Christmas day in L.A. (lower Alabama) was around 72 degrees!! Apparently I was a very good girl this year :)

I was so good that I received my FIRST Tory Burch piece!! I was so excited to open this super fabulous fashionista-must have up on Christmas morning! I think TheCobiaFamily started my new Tory Burch addiction, thanks! She always has the cutest and most FAB Tory pieces!

A Keurig coffee maker for my new coffee addiction...this thing is AMAZING!

A new lens for my camera :) My sister-in-law had this awesome camera lens when they were visiting during Thanksgiving and I just had to have it! It's a distance lens with 70-300mm. Maybe the blog will have more pics now ;)

I have been SO into football lately and have really enjoyed watching it and cheering on the SEC, especially my Auburn Tigers this year as well as the NFL Denver Broncos! Tim Tebow is amazing to say the least! He has a huge heart and his faith in God is so great! I am so glad that young men and boys have him to look up to! I would love to go to Denver to watch him play and cheer him on in person next season! Anywho, I got this FABULOUS book that I have already started reading! It's such a great read for us Southern Belles and a must-have for any football lovin' gal!

Christmas Eve Recap!

December 24th is one of my favorite days of the year! Christmas Eve night my entire mom's side of the family comes over for my momma's special lasagna! This year we missed my brother and sister-in-law, as they celebrated Christmas in England this year. We also missed my family that lives in Tuscaloosa this year. Things just weren't the same without 'everyone' in the house, but it was still a wonderful time! My cousin Kade came over Christmas Eve to open his gifts from us and we forgot how FABULOUS it is having a young kid in the house on Christmas!!! Mom collects the Department 56 villages, North Pole series and he was FASCINATED!!! I'm talking about he sit and stared at the villages looking for santa's house, reindeer barns, gumdrop shop, and cookie bakery for a good hour and a half!

Kade is such a sweetheart, he made sure to hug everyone after opening gifts from them!

Kade received a marshmallow gun from me and we had such a blast playing outside with it! Chloe had fun chasing the marshmallows and eating them :) She only had a few..

This was Kade's big gift, he was so excited!!...Can you guess what it is?

A Wii! He also recieved some Wii games and a toy truck that my dad built ramps and stuff for...I think my dad had more fun with that than Kade did!!

After dinner and gifts everyone went home and Momma, Dad, and I went to a Christmas Eve celebration at a family friend's home. We had such a nice time drinking Mrs.Paige's famous eggnog and chatting with friends! When we came back home, Mom, Dad, and I opened/exchanged gifts to each other.

Welcome 2012!!

I am beyond blessed to have loving family and friends who have helped make 2011 a fabulous year! God has truly blessed my family and myself this past year and I am so excited to see what 2012 has in store for me! As I have done pretty much every other year, I have some New Year's resolutions that I've made.

1. Make sure I read my daily devotional EVERY day

..no skipping!

2. Work-out for at LEAST 3 days a week!

..gotta get in shape!

3. Save more money than I do now

...I wanna be able to just pack up and go on a short vacay anytime I want!

Parties and Football

Time was well spent during Kyle, Rebecca, and Richard 's visit with parties that included Iron Bowl, Dad's Birthday, and Kyle's Birthday! For Game Day, we had homemade soup, spinach dip, and other tailgate foods :) For my dad's birthday celebration we went to Conestoga Steakhouse and came home for cheesecake! For my brother Kyle's birthday we went and ate MEXICAN at a local favorite and came home for Kyle's fav cake EVER...Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake!

I just know ya'll are BEAMING with JOY that I have finally posted...it's about time, I know! I have like 2 months worth of events and 'happenings' to share and I am super excited about it! There's so much like Auburn-Georgia game in Athens, Thanksgiving, my brother's visit home, gender reveal party I planned for a family friend, Christmas parties, Christmas, and many more!

First Up...Thanksgiving :)
I am so thankful that my brother and sister-in-law were able to spend 2 whole weeks with us during Thanksgiving! Rebecca even brought her brother Richard 'across the pond' with them! This was Richard's first official Thanksgiving, because well...England doesn't celebrate Turkey Day..it's America's holiday ;)

It's only appropriate to give him a "1st Turkey Day" gift :)

I'm a Busy Girl!

I know I haven't been a great blogger lately, but I have been SO busy! With work all week, school at night, and going out of town/out of state every other weekend, my blog has been losing my attention. My brother and sister-in-law have been in town fron England and will be here another week, so now my time is spent with them as well as planning a fabulous Tacky Christmas Party I am hosting with Brittany and a GENDER REVEAL shower I have been asked to help plan for a dear family friend and her husband! I am so excited about planning these two parties and if you have any ideas I will gladly take them!

Va-Cay: Rehearsal Party

Sorry, I haven't blogged in a long while. I have been out of town enjoying life every weekend and work and school have been so hectic! I may also have a new addiction to Pinterest...anyone else have the same problem? :)

Friday, October 21st was a fun evening spent at a local bar in downtown Harrisburg, PA. We rented out the whole bar for the "Krider Family Wedding". Here's some pics of our fun night before the wedding!

Va-Cay Day 3: Sightseeing in the countryside

My family and I have spent many summers playing outside and eating watermelon during the Pennsylvania heat as well as snowskiing and building snowmen at Pennsylvania's Blue Knob mountain in the winter. Luckily, we were able to see the beautiful fall scenery for the 1st time :) On our drive we found this super cute covered bridge (Osterburg-Bowser Covered Bridge) with this gorgeous white house! Oh, how I would love to rent out this place for the holidays and spend Christmas there with family! I bet it's gorgeous in the snow!

Dad took these random shots while we were walking back to the car from the bridge. Thought they were kinda funny! The one below came out kinda cool considering the fact I was still walking!

After the covered bridge, we decided to go to a fmaily member's house on a mountain and take some pics with the beautiful colorful leaves :)

Va-Cay Day 3

On Friday, Day 3 of our recent Va-Cay to Pennsylvania, we left Hershey and headed through the gorgeous mountains to Morrison's Cove, Roaring Spring Pennsylvania.

I love this picture! Such a gorgeous scene!

We met up with my grandparents and went to Fisher's Country Store. A minnenite store where everything is packaged in clear tubs and bags and you pay the price per pound. Fisher's has the freshest meat and cheeses too! We LOVE going to get a pound or so of Sweet Lebanon Bologna and Cheese. I remember when I was a kid we used to go to Fisher's half the time during our trips and eat rolled up bologna and cheese for lunch in the car :) That is exactly what we did while driving around looking at the beautiful fall colored trees and scenery :)

Look at ALL these pretty sprinkles!! You better believe I brought some pretty colors back home with me :) I even bought some pretty pearl sprinkles to make Christmas snowflake cookies :)

Va-Cay Day 2: continued..

After an AMAZING morning at the Hershey Spa, Momma and I decided to meet back up with my dad. My dad had spent the day with one of his frat brothers from college. Mom and I found the two guys in downtown Hershey at a local bar and grill. We just HAD to have a chocolate martini in this "sweet chocolatey" town :)

We left the guys once again and Mom and I went to Chocolate World to buy some fresh Hershey chocolate and goodies/presents to bring back home :)

We met back up with the guys and went to Hershey Story, a little museum about the hisory of Hershey Company :)

I LOVE THIS CHANDELIER!! It was so pretty! And Milton Hershey only paid $5,000 for it!

After looking at the museum we had quite an appetite. Dad's friend Andy picked out the perfect place and joined us for dinner at the Hershey Pantry! This cute little restaurant tucked away downtown had some of the best food! The portions were HUGE too!

After dinner we went back to our hotel and ate some delicious mini cupcakes from a cupcake shop inside Hotel Hershey we had bought earlier that day!

Smore's, Carrot Cake, and two Chocolate and Peanut Butter! These were super yummy!

Va-Cay Day 2- Hershey Spa at Hotel Hershey

On Thursday October 20, momma and I had an experience of a lifetime at the Hotel Hershey Spa in Hershey, Pennsylvania.We arrived at the Hotel Hershey 45 minutes before our spa appointments began and we walked around, took some pics, and got signed in :)

Mom and I put on our AMAZING robes and slippers after being given our lockers for personal belongings. I have never put on a robe so comfy as the wonderful yellow one at Hershey! I plan on ordering one soon :)

Totally don't know what's going on with my head being all weird tilted like that..o well!

*Spa Rain Shower*

This was a neat experience..I had to wear a swimsuit and this laday came in who was super sweet and she hosed me down on my back with a pressure hose...it felt really good on my back! My arms kind of flapped around a little bit though! Hahaha! My personal hostess lady, can't remember her name, was so nice! She told me I was the "princess" for the day and could use up all the towels if i wanted and to just throw them on the ground..no picking up after myself at the spa :) I really want this pretty mosaic shower with 14 shower heads in my bathroom :(

*Milk and Honey Soak*

This was the BEST and most AMAZING 15 minute bath I've had in my entire life! My personal hostess lady had the water temperature set to my likings before I entered the tub. Once I was in and relaxed she came in and turned the jets on. My sweet hostess had some fresh lemon water and hershey kisses waiting for me. I had 6 minutes left in my bath and ran out of kisses...luckily my hostess brought me another handful :)

*Cocoa Massage*

OMG! I have never had a profesisonal massage before in my life and I am pretty POSITIVE that I had one of the best massages' in the country at Hershey Spa. Thanks to Nathan, the guy who gave me my wonderful sweet smellin' cocoa massage! I have never felt more relaxed! I almost fell asleep it felt so good! The bed was even heated :) No pics of the cocoa massage.

*Oasis Lunch*

Lunch was fabulous! We were able to go to a special section down on the Oasis floor that was JUST for the spa! We were able to enjoy lunch all relaxful in our robes :) Lunch was a HUGE spread full of chicken salad wraps, tuna wraps, bruschetta and bread, artichoke and parmesan stuffed pork tenerloin (so yummy!!), pasta salad, regular salad, rolls, various veggies and dips too! Desserts...omg, the cutest little cupcakes with 3/4 icing, mini pecan tarts, mini cheesecakes, mini chocolate pies, and like 2 other fabulous treats along with different juices and coffee :) Water was served in huge glass bottles and placed on the center of our table near the window that looked out over the lawn.

On the particular day we went, the hotel was celebrating Breast Cancer awareness month and had special vendors from the Hershey Medical Center, make-up companies, and skin care companies at The Oasis available to answer any questions we might have. On the way home from our trip I got a phone call saying I won a prize drawing...it's in the mail and I'll get it soon! Wonder what it is ;)

In-between treatments Mom and I were able to relax in 1 of the 3 relaxation rooms :) Our favorite one was the "library" complete with magazines, chairs on the balconies, coffee, more lemon water, the BEST hot chocolate, as well as chocolate muffins and scones.

The entire staff of the Spa at the Hershey Hotel welcomed momma and I with open arms. Our experience was amazing and we are already planning our next spa day next year :)

Va-Cay Part 1-SORRELLI

Hey ya'll! I'm back from my vacay!! I had a blast with family this past week visiting fabulous places and enjoying the fall weather! I took over 600 pics this past weekend and I am not going to bore ya'll with all of them..especially all at once. I will do little sections or parts of my va-cay throughout the next week :)

Day 1- On Wednesday, my parents and I left the Montgomery airport and headed to Kutztown, Pennsylvania to visit SORRELLI!!! I was soooo excited!! Here's some airport pics of my parents and I.

The Sorrelli headquarters and retail store is located in the center of Kutztown, Pennsylvania, a charming college town. Elaine and Ronnie helped momma and I pick out our "goodies". Those ladies were SO sweet and welcomed momma and I with open arms. We loved trying on ALL the beautiful Sorrelli! We were layering and layering to get all different kinds of looks!

Here's the 4 GORGEOUS pieces I walked away with :) A necklace and bracelet to complete my "Sweetheart" collection. They are sending my bracelet off to be shortened so it fits perfectly, can't wait to get it back in 3 weeks! A new bangle that is just too perfect for words to complete my "Tapestry" set, and some earrings that I have wanting for the past year to complete my "Midnight Moon" set :)

Momma bought the following "pretties" in "Waterlily". Clip earrings and a ring that I will definitely be borrowing!

We bought my Me-Maw back a little something too! A bracelet in "Tapestry".

Wanna know something totally AWESOME??? Ok, I'll tell ya!! Guess who walked into the Sorrelli store during the 2 hours I was in there?? KERMIT OSWALD!!!! For those of you who don't know who this handsome fella' is...he is the co-founder of Sorrelli! Kermit and his wife Lisa Oswald started the gorgeous Sorrelli line years ago! Can you tell by the look on my face I was super excited!! I asked if he would take his picture with me, and he agreed :)

I had such a good chat with Kermit and the girls at Sorrelli! I can't wait to go back!! If you ever go near Pennsylvania...PLEASE stop by!! I have never seen so much BEAUTIFUL Sorrelli in all my life! I saw many unique and exquisite pieces in the Avant Garde collection and TONS of White Bridal...I will be going there to pick out my wedding jewelry for sure one day ;)

Fall Wedding Fun

There's nothing better than a wedding. Except maybe a FALL wedding :) Last weekend I attended a fall wedding in north Georgia with my friend Caleb (remember AL football game??). His sister Anna was the beautiful bride! Three years ago, I attended his other sister, Amber's wedding too! I guess I'm a good date since he asked me twice! Tiger Pride

I'm sure everyone got to watch some SEC football this past weekend. I watched some of the Auburn game on Saturday..I was in a house full of Bama fans, so I watched what I could ;) However, I still proudly yell WAR EAGLE after each game. Win or lose. Friday at work, Ashley and I wore our new Auburn flower magnets!! These are SO popular in our area right now. We bought ours this week and showed our "Tiger Pride" in the bank drive-up! Everyone loved them! Of course, some prefered houndstooth.

Excuse the bad hair, it was the end of the day, and i had to pull it in a side pony :)

Ashley's is tiger/zebra print with pawparint fabric and mine is all navy/orange zebra with navy center

WAR EAGLE! Next weekend will be spent in Auburn :) Maybe I should wear my magnet again!

2 Weeks Away!!

In EXACTLY 2 weeks from today, I will be headed north to enjoy the fabulous Fall weather in Pennsylvania!!..o yea, and enjoy my cousin's wedding :) My parents and I have quite a fabulous list of things to do before the wedding! Want to take a sneak peek at where we are going/ what we are going to do?

Ya'll know I'm addicted to Sorrelli jewelry!! I am so excited to visit the store and get some new pretties!!

Next, my dad surprised my Mom and I with a day spa package at the HERSHEY SPA in Hershey, PA.

We will enjoy our day with a chocolate massage, cocoa bath, and more as well as lunch at the Oasis complete with Chocolate martini's!

Maybe the next two weeks will fly by!! Anyone ever been to Hershey Spa or Kutztown??

It's here, It's here! Fall has officially arrived!

Look how PRECIOUS my sweet Chloe-Elizabeth is in her new Fall hairbow :) I bought it at Claybank at a doggie booth :)

This lady made the cutest hairbows and dresses for pups. I bought Chloe a hand crochet doggie beanie hat and Christmas hairbow! Pics to come later!

Saturday was a PERFECT example of a fall day here in the south! Saturday morning at Claybank Jamboree I wore a new top from VITA LUNA BOUTIQUE (told ya'll I'm addicted) and some skinny jeans and my boots! Here I am with Erica at Claybank! Ya'll know I love a B&W pic!

At Claybank Momma and I enjoyed some boiled peanuts! That was just the thing I needed to start Fall 2011 off to the right start! We walked around the square about 3 times and saw TONS of friends! It was so nice seeing people we haven't seen in awhile and catching up! We did a lil' shopping too ;)

If your looking for something to do this weekend, come to my hometown of OZARK! It's that time of year again for the 41st Annual Claybank Jamboree which is held the first Saturday in October! There are lots of vendors for arts and crafts, a kids area with rides and games, and lots of food! :) If your in the wiregrass area, I encourage you to come check it out!

I made a 100 on my recent Math test. I hate math with a passion but LOVE my teacher!! She is so nice and really knows how to TEACH and make her students understand! I made a 94 on my first test, and a 100 on this previous one :) I HIGHLY believe in reawarding yourself! I went to my new FAV boutique, VITA LUNA BOUTIQUE and bought these 2 pretty dresses!

Christmas Angel!

Christmas is a little less than 3 months away!!! YAY!! I just love the Christmas holidays! Every year I participate in Samaritan's Purse "Operation Christmas Child", I just love the feeling of making a child very happy! This year, Brittany and I have decided to sponsor a local child and help make her Christmas wishes come true! The other day I started purchasing some clothes for our "Christmas Angel"! Our little angel is 5 years old and needs clothes and shoes. She is really into dress-up and baby dolls :) How sweet! We have a picture of our Christmas Angel and she is so precious, I just get so excited knowing that Brittany and I are helping her have a great Christmas! I figure that every few weeks I will purchase stuff for her up until December! I decided to go to Old Navy and look at some cute clothes and look what I ended up leaving with!!

Dinner Date!

This weekend I had a dinner date with Erica, Jaime, and her sweet boy CORT! We went to Hobby Lobby and Jamie found the cutest wreaths for their front doors! Then we went and ate at at Olive Garden! It was simply delicious! I usually got for soup, salad, and breadsticks, but they were out of my soup :( so I got the Cheese Raviolli in alfredo sauce! Here's some pics from dinner and the ride in the car!

Girl Time!

Once again, I have to say how extremely blessed I am for the friends in my life! My friends definitely help make life worth living! Saturday was spent having a "Girl's Day" with Erica and Courtney! On most Saturdays, I meet Erica at KC's Donuts for breakfast! I LOVE their donut holes, they are a comfort food that reminds me of my childhood :) Erica and I met at 8:30am and had our breakfast and saw Neil and Jaime with sweet lil' Cort there too! After donuts and Diet Coke's, we headed to a little shop in downtown Ozark on the square called Barefield's. They carry brands such as; Lacoste, Judith March, Karlie, Vera Bradley, Brighton, Columbia, and tailored suits for men! If your in Ozark, you should stop by! Erica left with a dress and I left empty-handed. We got ready and then picked up Courtney and headed to tailgate and visit with some friends in 45 minutes North for some TROY football!

We got to craving a little food when we headed home, so we stopped by Sonic and the Sonic mascots were there. I kinda made Erica and Court take a pic with them...you only live once right? ;)

Surprise Pick-Me-Up

Have you ever had one of those days where that starts off bad, and it makes your whole day go bad? Earlier this week, that happened to me! Here's what happened...

I woke up a little late
I didn't feel comfortable or cute in the clothes I decided to wear
I left my bracelet at home
I decided to do my eye make-up different and it looked good :)
Then I cried like crazy on the way to work and messed it up
I got upset because my car messed up...again. It sounded like an awful go-cart/18 wheeler. I was running late to work and knew I had to just KEEP driving and get to work..Come to find out, I must've run over something and messed up something underneath...real bad :(
Momma had to get an earfull of my complaining and madness. I didn't feel safe driving to work. No one should ever feel like they aren't safe in their own vehicle.
However, it is fixed now :)

In the early afternoon at work that day I was so surprised by a sweet delivery that was made just for me! My sweet Momma and Dad decided to send me a little "pick me up" to help my day get better! It sure made me smile! Some super pretty flowers complete with a Diet Coke and my fav Heath Bar cookies from a local bakery!

After my "bad day" I realized it wasn't so bad. So many people have got it so much worse! Here I am worried about a car and how much the upkeep is. I should be thankful I have a car that is running and runs very well. I should be thankful that I have a good job. Many people today are homeless, broke, and jobless. A girl I know found out she has another brain tumor today...she had one removed a few weeks ago. She is in Birmingham undergoing treatments to try and shrink it. Someone else I know was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. I have so much to be thankful for and I am extremely blessed for my good health! No matter how bad of a day we may have, we have GOT to find something positive about the situation because someone else always has it worse!

Every morning I start my day by listening to a local Christian radio station. If your in the Wiregrass area, I recommend 94.3 HIS Radio :) It's so uplifting and helps start my day on the right track!

Everyday I look on Forever 21's website to see their New Arrivals because they upload new things EACH and EVERY day! That's just fabulous if you ask me! I love how affordable and cute their clothes and accessories are! The closest location is in Destin, FL and Birmingham, AL. Once I knew I was going to Tuscaloosa this past weekend, I planned to stop by The Riverchase Galleria in B-Ham to see what I could find. I, of course, did NOT leave empty-handed :) I walked away with...

Beaded Asymetrical Dress

-This color is GORGEOUS and the rhinestone shoulder is simply perfect :) I'm thinking wearing it one night in Athens and to my cousin rehearsal dinner coming up!

This isn't the EXACT sweater, but it's very similar to the one I bought, the one I got is Gray..but this brown one is super fab! I might have to order it!

Alabama Football

First off, let me start by saying WAR EAGLE! I wasn't the happiest camper after watching the Auburn game Saturday afternoon against Clemson, but I still stand behind the tigers and support them no matter what! I think we lost because I was in Tuscaloosa ;) My friend Caleb found out I was coming to T-Town and got me a student ticket for the Bama game! Remember him? Caleb has been a very good friend of mine since 6th grade! We still kept in touch when he moved away our Sophomore year. Anywho, my FIRST Bama game was a success! We had a blast! We went to a local T-Town hot spot called "The Houndstooth" before the game. I didn't want to take my camera into the game..too bulky! So I have some before and after pics!

Here's my friend Jackson and his sweet momma Ms. Nancy! Jackson, Caleb, and I all went to school together and they are 'roomies'! They have an apartment right near Bryant-Denney Stadium. See it in the background?

Friday Night Lights

Football season is well under way and this past Friday night I was able to go to watch my cousin Darby majorette during her high school game! Friday night Tuscaloosa's Hillcrest High's Patriots played their HUGE rival team and WON against Tuscaloosa County High. The final score was 28-7. I forgot about how fun a high school football game can be!

Before the 'BIG GAME', a special tribute performance was conducted by BOTH rival teams. It was so neat watching the rivals come together to do something so special for all the veterans, police officers, firefighters, etc that were in attendance that night, they were even brought out on the field to be recognized!

Look at my FABULOUS cousin Darby doin' her thang'!!! She just rocks at majorette!

The sheriff's department delivered the gameball and "dropped" it into the arms of a deputy on the field! So neat!! Can you see the gameball being dropped? It's right above the building.

As I sat in the stands behind the student section, I couldn't help but reminisce about all the memories I made at my Carroll High pep rallies, homecoming, and football games!

Here we are under a sign that we helped hold up while the other team was coming onto the field! Another neat experience at the game!

WAR EAGLE!

First off...I am so blessed to have amazing friends and family and also blessed that I don't work weekends!! I LOVE my weekends off! I have been taking weekend getaways with family and friends, catching up on some hobbies of mine, and relaxing. This past weekend was another FABULOUS weekend spent on the plains! I was on pins and needles during the game, I just was so excited we won!! Courtney and I did some shopping while in Auburn and took our pic in front of TRADITION!...

WOW O WOW! Today was a somewhat perfect day! Thanks to the hurricane/tropical storm that came through this weekend, south Alabama had a little taste of FALL today! The weather this morning was in the 60's and tonight in the low 70's! To celebrate the AMAZING weather and overcast skies, Momma made homemade vegetable soup and breadsticks for dinner. YUM! We usually eat tons of vegetable soup and potato soup during the autumn season. I always load mine up with some cheese :)

Anybody catch some SEC football this weekend? How about that Auburn game? I was in Auburn this weekend and the game had me on the edge of my seat!! Luckily, the tigers did what they do best and pulled through the 2nd half of the game. I am so glad I was able to visit and hang out with old friends and meet some new ones too! This past weekend was much needed and I had a BLAST! :) My friend Courtney and I went up Saturday morning and we watched the game with friends and then headed to a mexican restaurant for dinner and daiquiri's. After dinner Courtney, Taylor, and I got ready for a night out on the town while all the guys watched the LSU game. Our night was complete with a 4 am Waffle House visit :)

Weekend Recap

I can't believe that the month of August is over! This year has just flown by! This weekend is the first weekend of SEPTEMBER...which means SEC Football starts...WAR EAGLE! August went out with a bang, I was able to spend time with friends, shop, and visit my grandparents :)

Friday night I did some homework and studied for some tests I have next week. Nothing too exciting. Saturday morning I had breakfast with ERICA and Josh at KC's Donuts in downtown Ozark...SO YUMMY! I'm totally serious people...if you live in the area you MUST try their donuts!!!
After devouring some donut holes and a diet coke, I decided to go to Dothan to a new boutique that opened up. It's called VITA LUNA. So friendly and the clothes are real cute and DIFFERENT! I got a cute leopard top and GAMEDAY dress to wear this weekend! Also, since it was their grand opening I got 15% off...GO ME!

I then went and got this super fabulous headband for a baby gift! How cute is this?!?!

Saturday night I went out with Courtney, Shane, and Summer! I only took these pics and that's it! We started the night at Rodeo's for some amazing daiquiri's :) I'm wearing my new top from VITA LUNA.

After Rodeo's we met Summer in Enterprise and had a fun time catching up!

Living in the South is pure bliss, for me anyways! Believe it or not, there's so much you can look forward to here in south Alabama.

The main event is our National Peanut Festival. Who doesn't want to eat tons of food and mingle with thousands of your closest "neighbors" to celebrate the PEANUT?

This past week I had a lunch date with some FABULOUS gals from work. A sweet client of ours came in ranting and raving about a local tea house in downtown Dothan, Al. After we were told about this charming little tea house and the "teapot room", we discovered that the sweet client decided that she would treat us gals to lunch. What a sweet gesture! Where I work we don't turn down food, we love to eat :) May I present to you a hidden treasure in Dothan, Al....

Mildred's Restaurant and Tea Room

After parking your car in one of the two parking areas, walking up the back steps and onto the beautiful wrap around porch with tons of wicker furniture, you are greeted by a southern gentleman who politely opens the door for you and welcomes you with a friendly smile. He then escorts you down a corridor and discusses the lunch options you have to choose from.

Renae, Donna, and I chose the Chicken Salad on croissant with fruit. DELICIOUS! The chicken salad was very good and the fruit was so fresh!

Brittany decided on the Ham quiche and fruit. She said it was very good! She had never had a quiche before and was skeptical, but she loved it! A cute little cinnamon muffin was nestled on the plate as well!

Mildred's also has a "buffet of the day" On this particular day they served fried chicken, collard greens, green beans, mashed potatotes, sliced SLOCOMB tomatoes, and homemade banana pudding!

We decided to take a look around the venue. We learned a little bit of history on this historic 'Dowling' house that hosts events like business luncheons, bridal showers/luncheons, birthdays, etc. Mrs. Mildred purchased the home in 1996 and it has been Mildred's Tea Room ever since! I knew that Mildred's Tea Room existed "back in the day" but had no clue it was still up and running and has never closed its doors!

The upstairs is where large luncheons and private parties are held. It's decorated all "Christmasy". Is that even a word? I have a cute/funny pic of Renae and Donna walking down the stairs but decided to be nice and not post it, because I didn't tell them I was taking the picture :)

I just want to bake lots of savory sweets and display them on all these pretty cake plates!

Displayed in the corridor is a small Christmas tree with shoes hanging on it..LOVE!

If your in the Dothan area, stop by Mildred's Restaurant and Tea Room on North Alice Street in Dothan. They are open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11-2 and Sundays from 11-2.

Fun times shared with friends are bittersweet and down in the south fun times are sure to be had!

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was the last one before school started Monday. I've been out of school now for almost a year and I have LOVED my lil "break"! But now, it's back to Business...literally. lol.

Friday night after work I met up with my friend Brittany. I work with her at the bank, but we've been friends for a few years now :) We went to go see the movie Crazy,Stupid Love.

It was pretty good! Here's a pic of us before we left her house to head to the movies. It was one of many we took that night. PLEASE don't talk about the awful bags under my eyes, please and thank you ;) Also, I left my honky-tonk camera and had to use the ol' cell! So...maybe the poor camera quality is what made me have bags under my eyes?? A girl can wish right?

No pics for Saturday, I just went to put air in my tire (not me, someone else..i dont do any "guy" stuff like that), and I got my nails 'did', and attended a wedding for my dear friend Andrew and his new bride Faith. It was such a sweet ceremony and every one had a great time :)

Sunday was the first day for our NEW preacher at church! His name is Dr. Steve King and he has the most gorgeous family and they are so sweet! Since us Southern Baptists love a good meal and some fellowship, a "potluck" or "dinner on the grounds" was after the church service in the fellowship hall. Here's a pic of Erica and I. Thanks to Erica for changing the pic to Black and White :) She knows I just HATE colored pics of myself!

Planning Made Easy..and cute!

Recently, I have been on a huge hunt for the PERFECT 2012 planner that is super cute and fits in my purse. It needs to be stylish and perfect for helping me stay organized! Weekly Movie Night

Momma and I had our weekly movie date tonight! We decided to eat at Red Elephant for dinner where Momma ordered the grilled and blackened MahiMahi and I ordered the O-SO-Fabulous "Pasta Ya-Ya" (without mushrooms of course). It was simply delicious!! Here's an awful cell phone pic ..they forgot to NOT add mushrooms, so they had to take it back and make it without mushrooms. Underneath the chicken is some fantastic cooked carrots and squash :)

We decided to see Change-Up tonight. It was quite hillarious!

I am soo ready for The Help to come out!! It comes out TOMORROW! I start back to school next week and no more movie nights with Momma :(

Happy Monday!

Weekends are always so short, why is that? This past weekend I spent my time relaxing, watching movies, and hanging out with my bff Rebekah :) I also picked up a tennis raquet and played for a bit, which I haven't done in 3 years, and walked downtown! Then it got WAY TOO HOT!

Summer's Ending..

Summer is coming to an end and school is starting back up again! Personally, I am beyond ready for fall! I just love the changing of the leaves, cool, crisp air, boiled peanuts, and cute sweaters/coats! This past weekend I had a girls night with my best friend Rebekah! It was MUCH needed! We had dinner at a newer brick oven pizza restaurant in historic downtown Dothan and had a blast catching up on life. I didn't take any pics of our girls night, but here's a pic of the new top I wore from Charlotte Russe! I showed my student ID and got 10% off :) It looks better in person! I wore it with skinny jeans and my Gianni Bini wedges :)

I also got 2 necklaces for $5 a piece at CR!! Here's a pic of one of them.

Saturday Erica did my make-up for Heath's 10-year high school reunion!! My face is usually really dry so Erica decided to give me a steam facial :) It was fun and now my face is super soft and not dry! Here's an awful blurry phone pic :) See the steam? No laughing, because this was OBVIOUSLY before the make-up was applied :)

I personally didn't take any pics from the reunion...crazy me right?!?!? I do have a friend that took some, so maybe I will post some later on.

Tuesday Movie Night

I found some FABULOUS finds last weekend at the beach! I though I would share a couple with you! Heath and I went to Destin for the day to go to the outlets and Destin Commons, an outdoor mall basically...with Bass Pro Shop for the guys!

I have looked at things from Forever 21 before online, we don't have a store around here. I 've been to one up north and liked a lot of their things! Well, DESTIN GOT ONE!! Of course I tried some things on and loved their jewelry! These are the following things I walked out with.

Hometown DONUTS!

There's nothing that I love more than southern small town charm! Many of you already know that about me. I love discovering the many wonderful hidden treasures small towns have to offer. The city of Ozark has a hidden treasure that I thought I would share with ya'll!

KC's Donuts and Dawgs in Downtown Ozark, Al

This donut shop reminds me of my childhood, that may be the very reason why I love it so much! When I was little (like preschool/elementary) there was a local donut shop that made the BEST donut holes. That business got sold and then closed. KC's Donuts and Dawgs makes donut holes that TASTE SO GOOD! They taste JUST like my "childhood" donut holes, if not better! I seriously could eat 3 dozen at a time! (most of the time I do!)

Not only does KC's have the normal original glazed donuts, but they also have PANCAKE BACON and MAPLE donuts. KC's even has Honey Buns that are made with 100% local Honey!!!

Donuts and other specialty items such as Elephant Ears and Apple Fritters are baked fresh EVERYDAY at 4:00 am!! I think this is correct, forgive me if I'm wrong but KC's Donuts and Dawgs is open Monday-Friday 5 or 6am-2pm and Saturday 5 or 6am-10am.

One thing I also love about KC's Donuts is that every month they donate 100% of tips to a local organization or cause! This month's tips go to VOCAL.

If your in the Ozark area this weekend, why not go to KC's Saturday morning and grab a dozen donuts to take home or bring the family to downtown Ozark and eat at the 50's style soda fountain! I plan on going again this Saturday morning for some donut holes :) If you stop by make sure to let them know Lindsay sent you!

Party Re-Cap!

Chloe had a FABULOUS birthday, I made sure to tell her that my blog friends wished her a Happy day! Momma mainly decoratedfor the party while I was at work and at a doctor's appointment. Around 5:30 Chloe's guests showed up! Heath was supposed to work Thursday night but was able to be off and SURPRISED me and showed up! My grandparents came and of course they brought Becca. Ms. Mary and Traci came too! Chloe's new friend Zoe tagged along too and looked so precious in her "party outfit"!

As you can tell, Chloe-Elizabeth had a fabulous 5th birthday! She now has plenty of new toys and 'Pupperoni' sticks to last her a few months!

O yes, Becca and Zoe also let with a PARTY FAVOR which consisted of decorated doggy treats from ForPetsSake Bakery and a squeaky toy!

Vanilla Cranberry Can Cake

I just love Sandra Lee, don't you! I love her show and her magazines! Last week while watching Big Brother 13 Traci and Mrs. Mary decided to make Sandra Lee's Vanilla Cranberry Can Cake for dessert! You bake them in a cleaned out veggie or soup can and THEN decorate them! Here's our decorated cans!

Can you guess which one is mine?

Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it!

Ingredients

2 (17 1/2-ounce) boxes blueberry muffin mix (recommended: Krusteaz)
2 cups white cranberry juice
2 (16-ounce) cans whole cranberries, drained and rinsed (recommended: Ocean Spray)
2 1/2 cups shredded coconut, toasted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Spray the inside of 5 (16-ounce) cranberry cans (or similar) with cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine muffin mix, juice, cranberries (save the remaining contents from the other 3 cans for pancakes!), coconut, vanilla, cinnamon, and egg. Stir to combine. Divide batter among the prepared cans and place cans on a baking sheet. Bake in oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until tester comes out clean.

I have two pair and wear them to work all the time! These are a tad expensive to me but WELL WORTH it! They are the most comfortable flats I have ever worn! The first pair my momma got me! They are the Pewter Ballet flats.

And....THIS pair I found last week for ONLY $24.99 at TJMAXX!! I was so excited to see them there and for that price! I have been searching high and low for a pair of leopard print flats and now I finally have a pair...and they are super comfy!

I know it's been awhile but I promise I'm back !! I am been a busy beaver once again! This past weekend Heath and I spent the weekend at Lake Eufaula with his family for their family reunion. Despite the many scattered thunderstorms that were in the area, we still managed to have a BLAST! Can you believe that I didn't take a SINGLE picture!!! I know, I'm awful! Guess that means I was having too much fun :)

I have bought some new pretties lately and figured I need to show ya'll before I forget! I went to Hissyfits weeks ago and bought this FABULOUS Sorrelli "Sweetheart" ring that I wear ALL the time!

I really NEED this necklace AND earrings to match :)...like really bad!

I love to wear the Sorrelli "Sweetheart" ring I bought with this Fall 2011 Judith March dress!

So, whatcha think? I have a hot pink cardigan that I wear with it and my new Gianni Bini wedges momma bought me a few posts back! I figured I could wear my carmel color cowgirl boots and carmel color leather jacket with this dress on a cool fall evening!

BIG BROTHER 13!!

Thursday night I was so excited!! It was the Big Brother 13 premier! What better way to watch the season 13 premier than with a Big Brother party?! That is just what I did! Instead of game night, we had Big Brother night this week :)

The next few months are going to be so exciting finding out who wins HOH, Power of Veto's, and the overall $500,000 winner! We had some drinks and some yummy food! Nana(Ms.Mary) made chicken salad and we had slop (mexican caviar) and mini cheesecakes!

Traci even made our own "houseguest keys" for the party!

Every week we will place our key in the person's (or dynamic duo's) card holder that we think might be put up on the block. So, we placed our keys in the dynamic duo's card that we thought RACHEL would put up on the block. I AM SO EXCITED they brought Jordan and Jeff back on the show!! I hope they stay for a long while, but Rachel gets on my NERVES and hopefully she won't try and backdoor them.

Here I am placing my "tiny" houseguest key into a box of who I think will win in the end. At the end of the BB13 season we will count the keys of the person who wins and the person who guessed the winner of BB13 the most amount of times wins a GRAND fabulous prize!

Headland Visit

I recently was looking on my camera, and noticed that my Momma must have taken it to Headland when Kyle and Rebecca were in town. I was sad that I wasn't able to hang out with them this day. They went to the movies and to the O-SO-CUTE town of Headland for some sight-seeing and coffee at a local coffee shop there. I did meet them for lunch at Olive Garden during my lunch break though :) Anyways, they took my camera without asking and are getting payback because I decided to post them without them approving of them first :) At least we can tell by these pics they had a great time...and that Kyle apparently likes to get his picture taken. My cousin Darby was in town visiting with some of her friends, so it was nice they were able to see her for a bit!

4th Recap!

On July 4th, I spent the afternoon at my grandparents house! I just LOVE every moment that I get to spend with family!! Nothing makes this southern cinderella happier than being with the fam'! My uncle grilled some fantastic porkchops and hamburgers and my Me-Maw made a salad, HUGE baked potatoes, fried squash, and for dessert we had homemade vanilla ice cream! YUMMY! Look at those big ol' juicy chops'!

After we ate our lunch, we all sat around and looked at pics and talked. We then decided to play a round of FARKLE! I was so excited that Heath was off work on Monday because he was able to come to Me-Maw and Paw-Paw's too!! Chloe decided to rest with Heath after lunch! Look how sweet and cute she is :)

Remember Chad? This is my uncle who went skydiving with me and who is always grilling something fabulous up on the grill!

After we left my grandparentshouse, we headed home and Heath and I had a relaxing evening watching movies :)

I totally scored that top at Gap for 40% off :) I decided to add the belt and voila!

Big Apple Adventure

I've been in NYC all week long!! I might not have been in the REAL New York City, but i was surely on a "Big Apple Adventure"! Last week my friend Rebekah and I were busy teaching 3rd grade at Vacation Bible School at our church! We had loads of fun teaching our 12 kids and taking them to Worship Rally at 'Times Square', Bible Study at 'Battery Park', crafts at 'Crafts Central', 'Midtown Snacks', 'Music Backstage', and 'Missions Central'.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today I am celebrating our independence at my grandparent's house! There is nothing better than being with family on a holiday! I am pretty excited I was off work and able to sleep in for about an hour this morning :) Last Wednesday at work we had a 4th of July lunch. It was so yummy! If you live near the Dothan area, you must try out Zach's restaurant. They catered our meal and it was simply delicious! We had some fried chicken, BBQ, baked beans, creamed corn, and a very good potato salad! (trust me it was good, i hardly eat potato salad, but i ate this kind!) We also had 2 cakes handmade and Gary made his famous "cornbread fritters"! I took my camera hoping to take pics of my co-workers for their 'blog debut' because they are wanting to be featured real bad! After they found out about 'Southern Cinderella', they now read it daily looking for new posts to read! Anyways, I totally didn't take any pics of our lunch..silly me!

However, I did take a pic of some 'Star Spangled Treats' I made for the girls and guys at work on Friday! I took 16 stars to work and 2 were left!!! Guess they enjoyed them :)

Wanna know how to make these cuties?? When I got done making these, I couldn't help but think about other holidays I could make these for..then I thought "Lindsay, why haven't you thought of this before?"

All you do is make your Rice Krispy treats as normal. Of course with Rice Krispie brand cereal and large Jet-Puffed brand marshmallows :) Let the rice krispy treats sit in the 13x9 pan for a couple hours to "set" and harden a little. Then you get a cookie cutter (make sure it's a metal cookie cutter and not plastic) and cut out your shapes! I realized after about 4 stars that it was getting harder to cut out the shapes, so I got some butter and rubbed it on the inside/outside of the cookie cutter so it wouldn't stick :) Aren't I smart? Then I dipped the top of the stars in melted vanilla Almond Bark and sprinkled with patriotic sprinkles :)

I hope everyone is having a FABULOUS 4th of July! Maybe I will get some sparklers to make it official :)

Happy 1st Anniversary

Kyle and Rebecca!

A year ago today I was in ENGLAND and enjoying every moment of it! As many of you already know I was in England on a 'va-cay' for my brother's wedding!! It was a gorgeous event! Today Kyle and Rebecca flew back to England and I was the lucky one who was picked to drive them to the airport in Montgomery :) Look how cute the happy couple is on their 1 year anniversary!

SOMEONE PLEASE TELL KYLE HE IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF A HAIRCUT :)

When Kyle went to weigh his luggage, his bag weighed 56 pounds. The weight limit is 50 pounds per bag. Rebecca's luggage was 44 pounds. Kyle had to transfer some stuff from his luggage to hers. He got a little embarrased that I took his pic doing this...hehehe! I just couldn't resist!

Last night we had cake to celebrate!! I ordered this 'smash cake' from Publix and let me say that this was SOO good :) Mom made sure to set the table with their wedding program and pics from the wedding and wedding festivities! Isn't my Momma the best??

Since I am SUCH a sweet sister, I made dinner last night for the happy couple :) A new recipe made from "Hungry Girls' 300 under 300" cookbook and homemade french fries! I even put them in old-fashioned baskets with liners I found at Wal-Mart recently :)

Here's the recipe for the burgers I made that were under 300 calories each! They were SOOO good too :)

Hungry Girl's Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburger

Kyle likes to call this "Burger Surprise"

These instructions are for 1-ONE burger.

Mix 4 oz. extra-lean ground beef (thanks to Ashley at work for explaining lean meat to me and telling me to use 93/7) with 1 Tbs. precooked crumbled bacon plus salt and pepper to taste; form a ball around 1 wedge Laughing Cow Light Creamy Swiss; flatten slightly into a thick patty; cook to desired doneness.

"Crazy Fun-ness"

I don't know about ya'll, but for the past week or so I feel like I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off! By no means am I complaining! Those of you who know me in "real life" know that I love being busy and staying busy! I would rather have too many things to do than too little! Here's a lil' bit of what's been going on recently!!

*My sister-in-law Rebecca is in town!!! She arrived last Tuesday and I am so excited she's here! We were kinda bummed that my brother didn't surprise us and come too :( He had to work. Guess who was sitting on my bed Sunday when I got home from church?? KYLE was! That's right, that brother of mine surprised us all! I opened my door and there he was! I was unsure if it was really him or a cardboard cut-out!

-We had some family come over earlier this week for a homecooked meal and allow everyone to see Rebecca's lovely face once again :) RECIPE to come soon!!

Heath came over too! Rebecca always makes a "clean plate" EVERY time we eat! I'm talking about a REAL clean plate! When she's finished with her meal, it looks like the dish is ready to eat off of again its that clean...well when Heath found out about this, his competitveness (sp?) came out and he just HAD to beat her and have a cleaner plate..he won :)

*Rebecca and I drove 11 hours on Saturday to Hattiesburg, MS for a friend's wedding! We had a lot of fun and picked up Brooke and her PRECIOUS baby boy Silas :)

Sweet baby Silas is 8 months old! Isn't he a cutie! In the following 2 pics, I don't have my mascara on! I put it on in the ride to Mississippi :) So, don't hate!

Birthdays and Bowling

This past weekend 2 special people celebrated BIRTHDAYS! My Sunday School teacher Neil and my best friend Rebekah! Last Wednesday night we celebrated Neil's birthday by eating at a local Mexican restauraunt, Rodeo's, and then going to Ft. Rucker for some bowling.

BACK STORY: Neil has had 7 speeding tickets in the last year...yes 7-SEVEN, that is not a misprint people! Surprisingly, he still has that good ol' Alabama liscense! You would think that by now Neil would have plenty of excuses he has told the cop or has "planned" to tell the officer that pulls him over...but NO. Everytime he gets pulled over he admits he was speeding and just hands over the liscense, insurance, and registration. Well, Neil got his 7th ticket the week of his birthday. The previous 2 tickets were within 13 hours of ech other!!! So, needless to say, we had to play jokes on him about his awful driving habit!....how do you like the cake?

After not doing to well with the above technique, I decided to do a "granny" bowl...and what do ya' know? I got a STRIKE!

O yea...the GUYS won, go figure! They were already playing their 2nd game while us gals were on our 4th frame of the 1st game!!! We all had a blast and enjoyed ourselves!

Saturday night after the lake I headed to Rebekah's annual Birthday dinner with her family! Rebekah's dad made some AWESOME steaks and her mom made some AMAZING spinach and bacon mashed potatoes (I'll have to get the recipe and share!). Rebekah's mom also made a very rich, yummy, and fabulous Peanut Butter Fudge cake!! In the picture with Rebekah is her boyfriend Jeremy.

Fun at the Lake!

Saturday was full of some much needed FUN in the SUN! A few friends and I spent the day at Lake Eufaula catching some rays and enjoying the company of each other while tubing, riding the boat, and just chatting!

This past weekend I accomplished a mini bucket list thing.. I tubed!!! That's right! I've NEVER water-tubed before! I've snow tubed up in West Virginia and Pennsylvania though. Snow tubing and water tubing are TWO completely DIFFERENT things!! Ashley was the awesome photographer while Brittany and I were tubing and my memory card was full before we TOTALLY went 4 ft in the air...so needless to say there's no "air" shots of us, or any pics of the end of our tubing experience where we "butted" heads. We both are very hard-headed and had little headaches the rest of the day! Aren't we just the cutest tuber's? Is that even a word?

Hahaha! This pic cracks me up! Look at my face! This must have been when Kent, our fabulous boat captain (and Britt's beau), decided to take some fast turns!

I held on for dear life the ENTIRE time so that I would NOT fall in nasty lake water...no tellin' how many alligators were in there!

Heath was able to come too! I was excited because this was his 1st Saturday off in the past 6 weeks! I'm glad we could do something fun on his off day!

Notice Heath is about to fall off but is STILL hanging on...yea, that lasted like 15 seconds!

Suprises!

My dad is usually away traveling taking people on trips and tours.When he comes home he always brings my momma and I back a suprise. I just LOVE surprises! :) Well...he has been gone for 2 weeks and came home and brought CHLOE-ELIZABETH a surprise instead!! How sweet is that? He got her some summer tee's..complete with RHIINESTONES!

Don't worry though, he took us out to eat the night he came back home. We usually go to my favorite restaurant EVER, which is Conestoga Steakhouse. It's a family-owned place and has been around way longer than I have! Heath took me to Conestoga a few days early during our date night, so Mom and Dad decided to go to Cracker Barrel this time! It was still yummy! Momma and I finished our meals that we were able to get a FROZEN CARAMEL MUG SUNDAE :)

Dad also took his girls to Barnes & Noble where Momma and I both picked out a "summer read". Mom picked this one....

And yours truely picked this one....

I couldn't put this book down! It was so cute and fun! I started reading it Saturday and finished it early Sunday evening!

Abbeville Lunch

Happy Tuesday!!

In the last post I mentioned how Momma and I went to Headland, AL for the morning and have some fun! Well after leaving the Headland festival we decided to pay good ol' Abbeville a visit and eat some lunch at a super cute place called Huggin' Molly's. Please visit their website (there's a super cute story) and IF YOUR EVER IN TOWN...go visit!! They have fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickles, fried onion rings, homemade potato chips, hot dogs, chili dogs, AWESOME chicken fingers, sandwiches, soups, etc.! Everything is southern..even down to the yummy desserts! Huggin Molly's closes at like 3 and reopens at like 4:30 to serve a more formal dinner menu.

We walked out after eating our SCRUMTIOUS Southern lunch and saw this little guy getting a peek of what was inside..just hoping someone would give him a chicken finger! How stinkin' cute!!

Momma and I decided to walk downtown some more into a couple shops before headed back home. When I was little my mom and dad bought my shoes from "Buster Brown". Anyone else remember Buster Brown shoes?? Look at this AWESOME sign above the shoe store!!

Here's an Initial Keychain I got at a little shop downtown..I was long overdue for a new keychain!

I just LOVE this old theatre and its "Welcome to Abbeville"! I love just thinking about decades ago when people went to a "show" there! If those brick walls could talk, I bet it would have TONS of stories!!

If you plan on visiting Abbeville, AL this summer, you should think about going to FREE movies on the Community Center lawn! Bring your lawn chairs for a free showing outside of some new movies! How neat would this be!! They are even selling low-cost concessions!!

Headland Festival

Headland, Alabama.

Headland is a neighborhood town that I love and adore, I always have and probably always will! My love for this small south Alabama town started when my Aunt Nonnie and Uncle Jeff purchased a home there when my cousin Darby was around the age of 2. They lived in another cute city before this called Abbeville (more on that in a few days too!!) They had the cutest little house and after numerous handy projects and additions, they turned it into a charming and loving home. Headland is one of those cute towns where EVERYONE knows everybody! If you don't work with them or see them at the Friday night football game, then you will definitely see them at the "church house" on Sunday!! When I was younger, I always told myself that one day I would build a wonderful "Southern Living" home on some land in Headland and build friendships with the lovely people there.
This past weekend there was a reason to celebrate in Headland, the celebration of "BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS and BOUNTIFUL BERRIES". Mom and I decided to visit the charming little ol' town of Headland on Saturday and must I say, we had a GREAT time! Here's a few pictures that were taken. The only thing missing that day was my Aunt Nonnie and her 'crew'! We miss them living so close!! It's been almost 3 years since they've moved to the big city of Tuscaloosa, and we're STILL getting used to it!! Enjoy the pics!!

I just HAD to have some STRAWBERRY Italian Ice! It was sooo yummy!!

Mom decided to take a pic of me ordering my Italian Ice, she's silly like that! Notice my wallet? I totally got that last weekend! It's a Vera Bradley Frill collection wallet and I got it for 30% off..score! It has room for all my cards, cash, change, and even my checkbook!

Momma decided to snap another picture just as I was turning around and in mid-bite! Sorry for the awful look on my face..just look at the lovely people pushing the stroller behind me and the daylillies!

Speaking of Daylillies......

Aren't these pretty?? I was surprised they looked like they did considering its been 100+ degrees and there's been NO rain for quite a long time!!

This cute lil' water fountain is located in the center of the Headland square next to the gazebo.

Of course I had to turn it in 'black and white' also! Ya'll know I'm a sucker for a good ol' B&W pic

Momma couldn't leave without purchasing a Daylily to take home and plant! She let me pic out which kind :) First, you pick which ~~type or species~~ or whatever type of Daylily. They were ONLY $5!!

Then you grab your bulbs from the bucket that's labeled the kind of Daylily you want. Each "strapped pack" had 3 bulbs!

Lastly, you take your new Daylily home. If you are going to Abbeville for lunch and aren't going straight home, then you pour a little bit of bottled water in the backseat cupholder :) Then stick your bulbs in there so they don't get do hot and have a little drink. Then when you finally get home you can plant your Daylillies!
